Daily, I drive past the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank on my way to work. For several years, my family and I have been blessed to support the Food Bank with donations and seasonal maintenance of its HVAC system.
In recent weeks, I could not help but notice the Food Bank’s surge of activity. Its service to nourish people has never been more important. Our hearts are moved by the vulnerable senior citizen community which struggles with fear and financial challenges. Even the simple act of leaving home can cause great anxiety for them.
I reached out to Keith Miller, director of the Food Bank. After a brief chat, I am excited to announce that we came alongside this worthy organization to help in two ways.
First, we upgraded the Food Bank’s HVAC system with the Air Scrubber, an indoor air quality device that removes air pollutants, reducing the potential exposure of volunteers to bacteria and viruses. This also supports retaining a clean, sterile environment.
Second, we’ll be helping to deliver groceries from the Food Bank to senior citizens in the area, on a limited and trial basis. Our hope is to help lift the burden of access to food, and the fear of leaving homes.
We can all help. Do you need information about engaging CECS in a food delivery to seniors? Call Ana at 916.235.9361 or send an email to Ana@calenergyexteriors.com.
