Mike Cercel

As the son of a contractor, my passion for roofing began at a young age. I installed my first composite roof on my own at 14 and was rehired to reroof that same house 26 years later. By 18, I’d installed my first metal roof in Grass Valley, and it’s still standing strong over 40 years later.

I spent 35 years as the owner and operator of my own home improvement company, where I became fascinated by the durability of metal roofing, particularly when combined with heat-reflective paint. This specialization quickly became the focus of my business, earning a reputation as a local expert.

After graduating from California Polytechnic State University, I joined my father’s business and helped establish a dedicated metal roofing branch. In 1991, I became a partner and spent the next three decades installing metal roofs for schools, hotels, fire stations, and thousands of homes across Nevada, El Dorado, and Sacramento counties. In 2023, I joined Cal Energy to expand their roofing options, bringing some of the most energy-efficient, durable, and beautiful roofing solutions to our clients.

Outside of work, I’m a dedicated traveler with a passion for experiencing new places and cultures. I’ve been lucky to explore incredible destinations like New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, South Africa, Egypt, Italy, and beyond. For me, traveling is a chance to unwind and learn from the world around me.
